About the Gideons in the Philippines
We are composed of more than 4,000 members who are voluntarily and selflessly serving God in their daily lives.
WHO ARE WE?
We are an extension of the mission of the local churches. The Gideons International in the Philippines through the work of its members is dedicated to reaching and saving the lost through personal witnessing and distribution of God’s Word.
We are interdenominational association of Christian business and professional men who are members of Protestant/Evangelical churches.
WHAT DO WE DO?
We have distributed more than 71 million copies of Bibles and Testaments since The Gideons International in the Philippines was established in 1953.
- Our members personally witness and provide New Testaments to people they come across in their daily lives.
- Our members distribute New Testament Bibles to students in 5th grade to tertiary level, police, Fire-fighters, medical, and military personnel.
- We place Bibles in different traffic lanes of life such as, hotels, motels, hospitals, prison and correctional centres, domestic waiting rooms, and domestic violence shelters.
WHY WE DO WHAT WE DO?
The Word of God pierces and changes the heart of a person who reads it. Hence, the Word of God leads a person to Christ to find salvation and help in times of need.
For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart.
So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ.
2 Timothy 3:16-17
All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.
HOW ARE WE ORGANIZED?
We are strategically organized in more than 200 170 local groups (camps) across the country. It is divided into four (4) states which are responsible for the distribution and placement of Bibles and Testaments within their specific geographical area.
